Pips moved—
Profit / loss—

USD estimates use your inputs and reference contract specifications, excluding fees, swaps and slippage. Worked examples are fixed illustrations, not live prices or confirmed execution terms. USDJPY profit is converted at the exit price; its pip value uses the entered price.

How it works

For a buy, the price difference is exit minus entry; for a sell it is reversed. The difference is converted to pips using the instrument pip size, then multiplied by the pip value and the lot size.

P/L = (Exit − Entry) × Direction ÷ Pip size × Pip value × Lots

Worked example

  1. Trade: Buy 1.00 EURUSD @ 1.08520, exit 1.09020
  2. Pips moved = (1.09020 − 1.08520) ÷ 0.0001 = 50 pips
  3. P/L = 50 × 10.00 USD × 1.00 = 500.00 USD profit
