USD estimates use your inputs and reference contract specifications, excluding fees, swaps and slippage. Worked examples are fixed illustrations, not live prices or confirmed execution terms. USDJPY profit is converted at the exit price; its pip value uses the entered price.
How it works
First convert your risk percentage into a money amount. Then divide that amount by the loss a one-lot position would take at your stop-loss distance — the result is the lot size that risks exactly that amount.
Lots = (Balance × Risk %) ÷ (Stop-loss pips × Pip value per lot)
Worked example
- Balance $10,000, risk 1% = 100.00 USD, stop-loss 25 pips
- XAUUSD pip value = 1.00 USD per lot → risk per lot = 25 × 1.00 USD = 25.00 USD
- Lots = 100.00 ÷ 25.00 = 4.00 (notional ≈ 953,800.00 USD)
