Understand leverage before you use it

What is leverage?

Leverage lets you control a larger position with a smaller deposit. A position without leverage moves one-for-one with the market; leveraged positions multiply that movement in both directions.

How it amplifies

Leverage multiplies outcomes: a market move becomes a proportionally larger gain or loss on your margin. Used carelessly it can lose money rapidly — size positions to your risk budget.

Risk warning

Risk warning

Contracts for Difference (CFDs) are complex, leveraged financial instruments and carry a high risk of losing money rapidly. A high percentage of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Nothing on this website constitutes investment advice or an offer to buy or sell any financial instrument.
