Required margin—

Effective leverage for this account and asset class.

Indices and energies are capped at 1:100 and crypto at 1:5 on every account. Shares leverage is to be announced.

USD estimates use your inputs and reference contract specifications, excluding fees, swaps and slippage. Worked examples are fixed illustrations, not live prices or confirmed execution terms. USDJPY profit is converted at the exit price; its pip value uses the entered price.

How it works

Margin is the collateral reserved to open a leveraged position. The leverage ratio is resolved from the selected account: fixed accounts keep one ratio per asset class, while Turbo follows your equity tier in real time (with a news/session override when simulated).

Margin = Price × Contract Size × Lots ÷ Leverage

Worked example

  1. Account: Turbo with equity $800 → forex tier 1:3000
  2. Instrument: EURUSD @ 1.08520, contract size 100,000
  3. Notional = 1.08520 × 100,000 × 1.00 = 108,520.00 USD
  4. Margin = 108,520.00 USD ÷ 1:3000 = 36.17 USD
